I has been sometime since my last adventure but I am happy
to say that I back in SWFL and ready for my next adventure!
A few weeks ago I got invited to attend a fundraising event by
my friend Eryka. In August she is having an event for WWII veterans and was
having this fundraising event so she can honor these veterans at no cost to
them. So how could I turn down an invite for such a worthy cause????
The problem for this cannoli was I had no idea what Drag
Queen Bingo was…if fact what is a Drag Queen… now don’t laugh…back in my little
village I have never seen a Drag Queen but I must admit the ladies from where I
come from do have the same fashion sense as these two ladies did!
We do not play much bingo in my village as pinochle is much
more popular. They tournaments that last for days. However I have played bingo
before so at least that would be familiar to me. Thank goodness though that
many other friends were also there! Karyn Brooks was celebrating her 50th
birthday. She looks good for 50!!! So altogether there were about 12 of us who
wanted to help Eryka out…. And do some celebrating.
It was a real joy and delight to meet Bootsey Cloverdale and
Lady Licious our hostesses and Bingo gals for the evening. I can’t recall the
last time I have seen so much bling on one person…and we all know how much I
love my bling! Both ladies were gracious enough to pose for pictures with me! I
wonder who does their makeup and those wigs…wow!!!!
Throughout the evening they entertained us with their witty
jokes and songs….now these songs are adult content so this is not something you
would bring your mini cannoli’s to. However if you like adult jokes and songs
then you will enjoy it for sure!
I am not going to tell you everything that they do as that
will spoil it for you when you go to one but let’s just say there is whip cream….glitter…feather
boa…thigh master and a mega horn is involved! They did bring Karyn up to sing
her a special song and give her a “make over”! What a great sport she was about
it all!!!!
During the BINGO they do have a few rules that they enforce…..so
you best follow their directions or there is a penalty….they are fun things you
must do that add to the experience….you will never think of BINGO in the same
way ever again once you go to one! Oh and if you are a man you might not want
to win a bingo game…just saying!
At this event they also had a Chinese raffle. I have never
seen this done either but you buy tickets and place them in the container for
the prize you want to win. They had many items but I of course but my tickets in
for the prizes that involved adult beverages and bling!

While the event was great fun I did not in a single prize…It
was much fun to spend the evening with some of my favorite people….but the next
time I go I best win a game or two!!!

Eryka has
several other fundraisers in the near future…July 2nd is the Spirit of 45 Quarter Auction - and a fundraising cruise on Pure Fort Myers on July 23.
You just never know where I might show up!!!!!
