Carmen Gets An Adjustment

January 28, 2015

Back in my little village one of the things we were taught is that keeping one’s body working as it should is best done by a Chiropractor. I use to see Dr. Soprano all the time. However since arriving in SWFL I have not been able to find one who was willing to give a cannoli an adjustment.

The several months without seeing a chiropractor was beginning to take a toll on me. I was getting headaches and was not standing up so straight. My shell was even getting a bit brittle. A cannoli is fragile enough without having to worry about these such things.

Luckily I finally found a chiropractor who actually knows just how to treat a cannoli! Dr Sean Kirkpatrick is his name and he is located behind Lee Memorial Hospital…you can see the landing pad for the helicopters from his driveway. In fact, one was landing while I was waiting for my turn and I went out to see it a bit closer….yea not such a good idea….I was almost blown away from the force of those spinning blades. Luckily for me Dr K as he is called came out to rescue me. That would not have been a pretty site!

After catching my breath from my near encounter with a helicopter, Dr. K took me into the adjusting room. He has the same tables we have back in my village, only much larger. He also has this other machine for rapid thrusting and an activator that he used on me. They do not have such things back in my village. I have to say he was very gentle so as not to crack my shell.

What I really liked about Dr. K is that he is very relaxed and casual. You feel like you are visiting a friend and that you are part of the family. He does not wear a white coat, which I think is kinda stuffy anyway. He does not think because he is the Dr., that he is superior or anything like that. He makes you feel relaxed and very comfortable. Let’s face it ladies….he kinda look like one of them wrestling fellows doesn’t he?

I must say that thanks to Dr. K I am feeling fit as a fiddle again. I have scheduled myself for weekly visits to ensure that I stay that way.

Carmen Has a Totally Unique Experience

January 20 2015

http://www.totallyuniqueideas.com/
I must share with you an experience that I had that was totally unique. Well to this cannoli it was. I met the most divine person I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Her name is Amanda Devine and she is a Master of Advanced Life Concepts. Now, I was not really sure what that is because we do not have anybody like that back in my village. She told me the best way to understand what she does was to see her for a free consult. I figured I had nothing to lose and who knows I may learn something. So I took her up on her offer and went to see her at her office. She is located in the Key West Offices.

When I first got there, she greet me with a hug. She loves to give hugs! She was very gentle though so as not to crush my fragile shell. We then began with explaining a bit about some the concepts involved in her program. She has discovered a formula that is very old that helps people create what it is that want out of life. She has tools she has developed that help you work with that formula.

She kept me so interested as to what this formula was. She did tell me it was simple but it takes awhile to really understand it. How intriguing! I was excited to hear more. She told me stories of what some of her clients had accomplished using the formula and tools. The tools are the key to being successful she explained. If I were to take her program, then doing the tools daily for the rest of my cannoli life is very important.

She explained that there is no limits to the power of our minds and that we can create the life we want when we understand how to fully use it and that is what the formula and tools are all about. For this cannoli, that is very exciting. She showed me some videos that she has done and oh wow they were amazing.

She also explained that she has clients all over the world who are taking her program. I was curious though as to how she does her program if they do not live in Fort Myers. That is when she told me about Skype.... where you can talk face to face through the computer to people all over the world. OMG did I get excited!!! This means I can talk to my family back in my village face to face!!! Can't wait to try it!!!!!

After hearing all that she had to say and being so excited to learn more.... yup you guess it...I signed up for her program. I will be going weekly because while I have a great life....there is so much more I want to do and this will help learn how to create what I want and expand my imagination. Imagine if you will a life filled with much joy, happiness and love not only for me but for those in my life too! Imagine if you will being able to change the things you do not like to the things you do like! WOW! I can't wait to get started!

Carmen’s Auto Repair Experience

January 13, 2015

You can’t imagine how happy and excited I was to purchase a new cannolimobile! Now that I am in SWFL I just had to have a convertible! What else would a diva drive???? I must say I look cute driving around with the top down…the wind blowing through my hair…tunes jamming….ahhh the life of a cannoli in SWFL does not get any better than this.

That was until my cannolimobile started to have some problems. The oil light coming on was bad enough but I noticed it kept pulling to the right when I was driving along. No, I was not distracted driving. Speaking of which what exactly is a distraction when you are driving?  I cause a pretty good amount of attention when you see me along the highways….people stop, they stare or honk their horns. Does that mean I am a distraction?? Just wondering????

I realized I had to get my cannolimobile looked at. Not every auto place is able to do this. So I had to call around. After tons of rejections I found Mr. B’s Alignment and Brakes in Cape Coral. What a find! They are tucked in what I was told was an industrial area on SE 9th St. Apparently they have been around for years and are well known.

Tyler (isn’t he cute?) took a look at my cannolimobile and said all I needed was an oil change and an alignment. Alignment? What is that??? Oh I learned it has to do with the tires and that is why it was pulling to the right. Back in my little village I rode a bicycle around everywhere. There was no need for a cannolimobile. All this maintenance stuff is new to this cannoli.

I waited around for my cannolimobile to be ready. They had some coffee available…a TV to watch…but I have to say the others waiting there for their cars were entertaining. I received some strange looks, some smiles and a few chatted with me. Before I knew it though, my convertible was all ready and I was good to go. No more light and now when I am cruising along my car drives straight as an arrow!!!!

From what I am told by those I showed my receipt to, I was charged a really good price. I hear there are those who take advantage of unsuspecting cannoli’s. They tell you that you need things when you don’t, or they over charge for the simplest of things. Luckily for me Mr. B’s is not like that.

The next time I need some cannolimobile work done I am going to have to ask just who Mr. B. is? Does anybody know?????

Carmen Meets the Ladies of LCBW

January 6 2015

Being new to this whole idea of networking, I was excited to have the opportunity to try it again and get a better understanding of why businesses people do this. At first glance it seems like a social type of gathering but so much more that that happens.

You see…In my village when women gather…a whole lot of talking happens but it usually about their husbands, kids, family, fashion and lots of village gossip. A cannoli can only take so much of that! When this group of women gathered they talked about so much more. They seemed to really know each other and were asking about how not only how their families were doing but their businesses as well. What a novel concept for this cannoli.

Being new to the group I was a bit nervous as I did not know any of these ladies. They made me feel so welcomed that I did not feel out of place.  That sometimes happens when you are a cannoli living in a non-cannoli world. They asked me about what services I offered and how perhaps they could help me grow my business. I was impressed. Another thing that impressed me was that each lady had a chance to tell not only about their business but had to share something positive that they live their life by…kinda like a positive motto…can you guess what mine was?

Carmen's Adventure at Tucker Vision Center

January 2 2015

In my little village we have an eye doctor that everyone goes to. Dr. Corleone is an expert when it comes to cannoli eyes. I was worried I would never find such an expert here in SWFL. That was until I met Dr. Terry Tucker. I met Dr. Tucker at the What’s Up SWFL Networking Bash and he told me he would have no problem giving me an eye exam. What a lucky cannoli I am!

So today was my appointment day and what a great experience it was. The staff John, Ruby and Norma were just great. I even met their office manager Suzi. I hear Suzi is pretty famous in her own right as she is very involved in the community and does a lot of networking.

Dr. Tucker has some equipment that we do not have in my little village. The Auto Refractor was pretty cool as it took pictures of my pupils so the Doctor would have a baseline to work from in determining if I needed glasses or not. I see perfectly fine so I know I will not need any glasses….not this diva! They then take this little white card and place it in a computer that sends the info over to the Doctor. What a technological marvel that is. Miss Ruby did this part of the test with me as well as having me read the eye chart. I could read the smallest of small print or so I thought anyway.

After Ruby was finished I waited briefly for Dr. Tucker to arrive. He is such a warm and friendly guy and oh so knowledgeable too. He took a peak into my little cannoli eyes. Then he broke the news that I was not so happy about…… Seems I need glasses. Imagine that, this diva needing glasses….I don’t think so. Why I can see perfectly fine! Glasses….me…no way! “Yes way” is what he told me and then went through this most oddest test to show me that I did…. Now let me ask you this, what is up with this which is clearer 1 or 2 thing they have you do? That was hard as it was so close there was hardly any difference. I was so confused. He must have done it 10 times, at least. How is a cannoli supposed to tell? What if I get it wrong? Ahhh that is where that baseline auto refractor testing thingy I did earlier comes into play. Whew, that is good to know. I hate to admit it but some of those choices did make seeing the smallest of small print easier. What a hard pill to swallow…!!!!! Needing glasses!!!! Egads!!!!
